Wooden stables for sale — built in our own workshop, delivered and installed across Europe
Looking for a high-quality wooden stable that is built to last and installed without any hassle? De Tuinhuizenman designs, produces and installs wooden stables for horses, goats, sheep and other livestock across the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and beyond. Every stable is built in our own workshop in Sint Hubert (Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands) and assembled on site at your location. Transport and installation are always included. You sit back — we take care of everything.
Who we are
De Tuinhuizenman has been active in timber construction for more than 25 years. We have built and installed hundreds of stables, barns and wooden outbuildings for private horse owners, hobby farmers, small-scale breeders and riding schools across Europe. Everything is produced in-house — our own workshop, our own craftsmen, no middlemen or subcontractors. That keeps our quality consistently high and our prices sharp. Because we manage the entire process ourselves, we can be flexible, respond quickly and deliver exactly what you need.
What we offer
Horse stables
We build horse stables from a single box to a complete stable block for a small equestrian centre. Popular configurations include a single horse stable with storage room, two or three horse boxes with wash bay and tack room, four horse boxes with wash bay, tack room and hay storage, larger stable blocks with a central aisle, storage and a field shelter attached, and double-walled stables for extra insulation and comfort. All dimensions, roof styles and extras are decided by you. We have completed projects across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany — from a compact single-box stable in Erp (Noord-Brabant) to an eleven-box stable with wash bay for a riding school in Haren (Groningen).
Goat sheds and sheep shelters
For hobby farmers and smallholders we supply wooden goat sheds and sheep shelters in a wide range of sizes. A compact single shed for a few animals, a combined goat and sheep stable with storage and feed area, or a larger multi-pen facility with a covered run — we build it all. Our goat and sheep sheds are made from Douglas wood with double-walled construction, concrete ply interior lining and a U-profile at the base of every wall to prevent rising damp.
Field shelters and open-fronted shelters
A field shelter is the most straightforward solution for animals that live outside but need protection from wind and rain. We supply field shelters in all sizes and configurations — open-fronted, with or without a dividing wall, with or without a feed area. Field shelter kits are also available if you prefer to build yourself.
Self-build kits
Prefer to do the building yourself? We supply complete stable kits with all components precision-cut and prepared in our workshop. You assemble the stable at your own pace on your own land. All parts are made to fit — basic DIY skills are sufficient for assembly. We can organise delivery of the kit directly to your location.
Material — Douglas wood for maximum durability
All our stables are built from Douglas wood as standard. Douglas is one of the strongest and most weather-resistant timber species available for outdoor use. It is naturally resistant to moisture, mould and insects without any chemical treatment, requires very little maintenance and ages beautifully. A wooden stable from De Tuinhuizenman is not just quick to install — it is a long-term investment that will stand strong for decades.
Why choose De Tuinhuizenman?
We run our own workshop so there are no delays caused by third parties and no unexpected costs. We visit your property to assess the situation before we draw up a quote, so you always know exactly what you are getting. Our detailed technical drawings come with every quotation. After your approval we plan production and agree a delivery date. On the day of installation our team arrives, builds the stable completely and leaves your yard clean and tidy. From first contact to finished stable, everything is in our hands.
Our prices are consistently competitive — even for fully custom projects — because we control the entire production process. Customers regularly tell us they chose us after comparing several suppliers and finding our combination of quality, flexibility and price unmatched.
What our customers say
Anouk Bootsveld, who had two stables with field shelter and tack room installed: "Having a stable built by De Tuinhuizenman — I can recommend it to everyone. Clear explanation and drawings of the possibilities. A well thought-out concept. You can really tell they have 25 years of experience. Everything at a very fair price. And they keep their word. Super satisfied."
Laura Blomsma-van Trigt, four horse boxes with wash bay, tack room and storage: "Even better than I had imagined. The team worked hard and finished everything down to the last detail. Real craftsmanship!"
A customer who had multiple stables installed: "After a good conversation with De Tuinhuizenman we decided to go with them. They put the stables up in a single day. We are also very happy with how the whole job was handled. When they left, the site was spotless. Truly recommended!"
Neyrinck Sabrina from West Flanders, Belgium, on her Shetland pony stable: "You came all the way to distant West Flanders to assemble the stable. I am very happy with it and I also want to thank your wonderfully friendly team. Truly top service!"
Joke from Antwerp, Belgium, on her field shelter: "We are very happy with the field shelter these guys installed for us. We asked whether they could install it at short notice and eight days later it was already standing. They work neatly and leave everything tidy. Highly recommended."
T.A. van Ballegooijen: "We spoke to several contractors but none of them was as flexible as De Tuinhuizenman, and they stayed friendly throughout. After receiving a detailed quote with technical drawing we gave the go-ahead. From that point on everything went exactly as agreed, or was discussed openly if anything changed. We would recommend De Tuinhuizenman to everyone."

Delivery area
De Tuinhuizenman delivers and installs wooden stables throughout the Netherlands and regularly across Belgium and Germany. We have no fixed delivery radius — distance is never a barrier. Transport costs are always discussed and agreed with you in advance, with no hidden charges. If you are based elsewhere in Europe and interested in a stable or kit, please get in touch and we will discuss what is possible.
How the process works
You contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email. We discuss your needs — what animals, how many, what size, what extras. If useful, we visit your location to assess the site. You then receive a detailed technical drawing and a transparent, itemised quote. After your approval we schedule production and agree a delivery and installation date. On the day, our team arrives and assembles the stable completely. We leave your yard clean and tidy. From enquiry to finished stable, you always know where you stand.
Frequently asked questions
What does a wooden stable cost? The price depends on the size, number of boxes, wood specification and any extras such as a wash bay or tack room. We always provide a clear, honest quote with no hidden costs. Contact us for a free estimate.
How long does delivery take? Typically a few weeks from order to installation, depending on our workshop schedule and the complexity of the project. We keep you informed throughout.
Do you deliver outside the Netherlands? Yes — we regularly deliver and install in Belgium and Germany and have experience with logistics across borders. Contact us to discuss your location.
Can I order a self-build kit instead of a fully installed stable? Yes. We supply kits for horse stables, goat sheds, sheep shelters and field shelters — all components precision-cut in our workshop, ready for you to assemble.
Do I need planning permission for a wooden stable? This varies by country, region and municipality. We recommend checking with your local planning authority before ordering. In many cases a wooden stable falls within permitted development, but this depends on your specific situation.
Is the wood treated? Douglas wood does not require chemical treatment — it is naturally durable. We do not use pressure-treated timber as standard because it is not necessary with Douglas.
